Your Hit Parade 1944 05 06
This is a 45 minute show of Your Hit Parade from May 6, 1944, which included Frank Sinatra. The show would count down the top hits of the day. The number one song this week was "I Love You." The song was by Cole Porter and was recorded by Bing Crosby. The songs were performed by the singers on the show that date, in this case, Frank Sinatra (at about the 39:30 mark) with the young ladies in the audience swooning appropriately. This was recorded from electrical transcription to tape in the mid-197...

Your Hit Parade: Moonglow
Clip from the musical TV series "Your Hit Parade", with the orchestra performing "Moonglow". This clip is notable since it features dancer Thelma "Tad" Tadlock, who in the same year appeared in the infamous GM short "Design for Dreaming". Here she dances quite well.

Your Hit Parade - 15th September, 1951
An episode of "Your Hit Parade", a music-variety series featuring hit songs sung by the cast members. Not one of the better episodes, I'm sorry to say. Songs include: "Shanghai", "The Loveliest Night of the Year", "Sweet Violets", "I Get Ideas", "Come On-a My House", "Too Young", and "Because of You". In very poor shape, missing the cigarette commercials and with the wrong opening and closing, plus some sound and picture issues.

Presents Dorothy Collins - Matthew Paul Argall
Just some video I (Argall) edited together, with clips of Dorothy Collins singing songs on the "Your Hit Parade" series, as well as a few of her Lucky Strike commercials. Yes, I realise this video has a silly title...but it's a catchy title, much like some of the songs she sings. (note: while the "Your Hit Parade" TV series is public domain, the compositions she performs are still copyrighted. So maybe not a wise idea to upload it to YouTube)

Your Hit Parade - May 2, 1951 (Music/Variety)
An episode of "Your Hit Parade", a music-themed TV series in which the cast performed the hit songs of the week and a couple of "extras". This episode is a bit of a "off-episode", not up to usual standards. Songs include: "Mockin Bird Hill", "Sparrow in the Treetops", "Be My Love", "How High the Moon", "On Top of Old Smoky" (a dreadful rendition), "Would I Love You" and "If". Some severe sound issues during the closing credits and Lucky Strike jingle.

Two public domain musical recordings from the 1950's, sung by Gisele MacKenzie. Both are from the TV series "Your Hit Parade", and "Count Your Blessings" is a good example of 1950's pop music ("Heartbreak Hotel" is done as a comedy number, although it's still good).
